This is the blog of the Digital Miscellanies Index, a new project at the English Faculty, University of Oxford.
You can read more about the project here.
The project was conceived of by Abigail Williams, and was awarded funding by the Leverhulme Trust. Over the next three years, a team of researchers will index the poetical contents of over 1000 miscellanies published in the eighteenth century. Once completed, this index will be freely available online, and will provide a window into a neglected area of eighteenth-century literary culture.
The blog will act as an ongoing commentary on the project, on miscellanies and miscellany scholarship, on eighteenth century literature and culture, on book history, bibliography and textual criticism, and on digital humanities.
